Welcome to My Thoughts

Hello world, my name is Shakia Artson and I am 19 years old.  I am from Brooklyn, NY, but currently enrolled as a junior at Gordon College in Wenham, MA.  I am a Communication Arts/Sociology major.  I am learning so many fascinating things about our culture and the society we live in, which has caused me to change my world view.  I believe fear and ignorance are the two main driving forces behind hopelessness and failure which is why I made this website - I want to educate people and share the many things I am learning in an effort to promote social change and growth.  This is just a journey through my life as I live it in college and grow everyday; as I become a better steward of my world one day at a time.  I am also involved in a lot of activities on my campus that encourage community growth, racial reconciliation, and a respect for all cultures.  Since the world is so diverse, we need to start seeing through diverse eyes.  I live to inspire and motivate because God created all of us in His image, which means we are all beautiful and precious.  Be bold, be proud, know yourself, and love yourself! I hope you all enjoy this glimpse into my thoughts.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.  Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.  And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
 

Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!  For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!  Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
